Certificate III in Seafood Industry (Aquaculture)

Course Information

. This course gives learners the skills to work on a farm at pond technician level with a full understanding of production and husbandry techniques. This course is registered for traineeships.

The Certificate II in Seafood Industry (Aquaculture) (Course No 6591) is a prerequisite for this course. The course structure given below assumes you have completed the Certificate II. The units in this course are prerequisite units for the Certificate IV and Diploma courses. You can continue straight on in to the Certificate IV course after completing the Certificate III.

Study load

Full time students will complete the Certificate III in one semester of study. Part time students will take at least one year to complete the course. It will require attendance at three workshop blocks, and home study using comprehensive course workbooks. Support is available from teaching staff on a free call number or by e-mail. Additional study materials are available on the Internet.

To complete the course in 1 semester requires study at home plus attendance at the three workshop blocks.

NB - the Recirculation Technology Short Course is timetabled to run for 2 days following workshop 1 for the benefit of students who wish to attend both.
