Certificate IV in Seafood Industry (Aquaculture)

Course Information

. This course is designed for people wanting to manage a farm. It includes a range of aquaculture management level modules plus a selection of business modules to give students the skills to successfully run an aquaculture enterprise.

The Certificate III in Seafood Industry (Aquaculture) (Course No 6591) is a prerequisite for this course. The course structure given below assumes you have completed all the units in the Certificate III. The units in this course are prerequisite modules for the Diploma course. You can continue straight on in to the Diploma course after completing the Certificate IV.

Study load

This course will be run full time over one year and meets Austudy requirements for a full time course. Part time students will take 11/2 to 2 years to do the course. It will require attendance at one workshop block, and home study using comprehensive course workbooks. Support is available from teaching staff on a free call number or by e-mail. Additional study materials are available on the Internet.

To complete the course in 1 year (2 semesters) requires study at home plus attendance at one workshop block.

The Certificate IV level course relies on students doing considerable research for the units. Students need internet access and assignments are to be presented in a professional manner. This includes correct usage and spelling of technical terms and referencing information sources.
