Course Information

Fish Hooks If you commence your Fishing Industry Recreational Services studies in the Certificate II (Course No 8195) and can then progress in to the Certificate III.

Completion of the Certificate II also includes the following certification:

  • General Purpose Deckhand - *note students must apply direct to NSW Maritime for this qualification after completing the required modules during the course
  • Senior First Aid certificate

Study load

The course requires approximately 255 hours of study. It is only delivered part time and will take at least one year to complete the course. Completion will require attendance at three one week workshop blocks and home study using comprehensive course workbooks. Support is available from teaching staff on a free call number or by e-mail.

Entry requirements

There are no formal educational entry requirements, however as a major component of the courses is completed by distance education you will need to be self motivated and have good literacy skills.
